My first picture of Saturn

I was like a little kid! I was so excited to look through the eyepiece and see Saturn. I was using my Nextar Evolution 8″. I have my 32 mm lens. It was amazing!!! So I tried to take a picture. Well, that is when things got ugly. It turned out my colmination was off. Looking at Saturn was perfect but pictures were far from perfect. Since it was almost 2am and I had to get up for work at 7. I decided to try again the next morning. This time I was prepared. I did the colmination using my camera and Backyard EOS.

I took 10 pictures at ISO 800, 10 at ISO 1600 and 10 at ISO 3200. I tried various shutter speeds. I noticed looking at the image, the faster speeds looked better. For example a 1/4 shutter at ISO 800 looked good. But then I found out that the longer shutter speeds at ISO 3200 were better for stacking. I also tried using the T-adapter without a lens and then with a 25mm lens.

This picture was created using AutoStackkert using just the 3200 ISO images and the 25mm lens. Then I used Paint Shop pro to resize and get rid of some of the blurriness.

Here are some of the raw images before any processing or stacking
